BREAKING NEWS: India v Yemen match cancelled

The India v Yemen international friendly match scheduled to take place in Guwahati on November 14 stands cancelled.

The Yemen Football Association (YFA) has informed the All India Football Federation (AIFF) that the tickets to India have been cancelled due to problems with Gulf Airlines.

“The Gulf Airlines cancelled their reservations for late notification,” the YFA wrote in an eMail to the AIFF.

The AIFF tried to help the YFA but the West Asians were not reachable on any communication line. The AIFF has reported the incident to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), while the simultaneous search for a replacement team was not fruitful.

The Indian national team is unlikely to get an opponent just in time for the FIFA Matchday next week according to current situation.
