India U16 girls held by Sri Lanka

The Indian U16 Women’s national team conceded an injury time goal to register a 1-1 draw against Sri Lanka in an AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2013 Qualifier played at the CR & FC Grounds, Colombo on Wednesday.

The Indian team led by skipper Soumiya Ravi took the lead two minutes into the game when Nevilla Colaco hit the target.

The Indian girls looked sure to secure their first win in a tough Group B after losing 2-5 to Iran on Monday.

But W. P. Thathsarani Dissanayake found the back of the net for hosts Sri Lanka in the dying moments of the game and both teams had to settle for a draw.

India will face Uzbekistan in their final qualifier on Friday.
