FC Bayern Munich have once again proved their excellent form with another convincing 3-0 win in a winter break friendly match at Basel’s St. Jakob-Park Stadium on Saturday.
The German giants defeated hosts FC Basel to send out a strong message to their rivals in the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League. Bayern have returned from a winter training camp in Qatar on Wednesday, where the won two friendly matches including a 5-0 hammering of FC Schalke 04 at the Al-Sadd Stadium on Tuesday [+ read more].
Mario Mandžukic (8′), Bastian Schweinsteiger (11′) and Franck Ribéry (37′) gave Bayern a 3-0 lead at half-time in an one-sided affair. The Bavarians could have handed the hosts a heavy defeat, but they took care of themself in the second half and didn’t put too much pressure on Basel.
The Swiss team failed to create any serious trouble for Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer and the match ended 3-0 favour of the visitors.
Bayern will continue their prepartions for the second half the season with another friendly match against SpVgg Unterhaching tomorrow (Sunday).
