Sunil Chhetri scores twice on his Churchill debut

Indian national team skipper Sunil Chhetri has made a successful debut for his new club Churchill Brothers SC in a Goa Professional League match against Dempo SC at the Duler Ground today.

Sunil joined the Goans on loan from Sporting Clube de Portugal just a few days ago and he was fielded in the Starting XI against Dempo.

The star striker hit the target in each half to hand Churchill a 2-0 win against the fellow I-League side. Sunil’s first goal came off a by T. Bineesh Balan pass and the India skipper put the ball into the bottom corner with a brilliant strike from just outside the box.

The second goal was another result of the Bineesh-Chhetri combination. A Dempo defender brought down Bineesh in the box and Sunil Chhetri converted the resulting penalty.
