India jump three spots in FIFA World Rankings

The Indian national team has gained three spots in the latest FIFA World Rankings which has been published on Thursday.

India is now placed 147th in the world together with Hong Kong, who have 178 points to their tally like Wim Koevermans’ team. Sunil Chhetri and company are ranked 26th in Asia.

Afghanistan (140th) keep their supremacy in South Asia ahead of India, Bangladesh (152nd), the Maldives (157th), Pakistan (168th), Nepal (171st), Sri Lanka (172nd) and Bhutan (207th).

Spain remain at the top of the FIFA World Ranking with 1614 points. Germany (2nd), Argentina (3rd), Croatia (4th) and the Netherlands (5th) complete the “Top 5”. Japan (32nd) are the best team from Asia ahead of Korea Republic (40th) and Australia (47th).
