35th Federation Cup draw conducted at Football House

The draw for the revamped 35th Federation Cup took place at the AIFF Football House today.

The Federation Cup will be played in a proper home-and-away format and no longer as a group stage-cum-knockout tournament.

The top eight teams of the 2012/13 I-League season were placed in Pot 1, while the other I-League teams along with the two promoted teams, Rangdajied FC and Mohammedan Sporting, and Team 15 and Team 16 were placed in Pot 2. Team 15 and Team 16 would be announced later according to the AIFF.

The first matchday will be the Round of 16 with eight matches taking place around the country. The dates for the various rounds will be announced at a later date.
