AFC’s Special Mission Team to inspect new I-League clubs

A five-man Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Special Mission Team (SMT) led by AFC Research & Support Services Head Steve Kim landed in Mumbai late Tuesday night on a five-day visit during which they will inspect the two new clubs in the I-League – Mumbai Tigers and JSW.

Besides Kim, the other four members are Benjamin Tan Tiong Meng, Ong Chong Heng, Jose Marcelino Zalazar Carpio and Mahajan Vasudevan. They would be accompanied by I-League CEO Sunando Dhar and AIFF’s Club Licensing Manager.

The SMT will also attend the I-League Workshop at the AIFF Headquarters, Football House on July 12. The workshop will reflect extensively on matters related to matchday operations, youth development, media relations, stadia safety and refereeing matters and laws of the game.
