SAFF Championship 2013: Nepal 2-0 Bangladesh

The SAFF Championship 2013 kicked-off with a 2-0 win for hosts Nepal against Bangladesh in a Group A encounter.

Nepal took an early lead through Anil Gurung who put a header into the back of the net ten minutes into the game.

Bharat Khawash doubled the lead just eleven minutes later to the delight of the capacity crowd in Kathmandu.

Nepal continued to dominate the proceedings in the second half, but they couldn’t increase the lead further. The hosts had to settle for a 2-0 win which will be a morale boost ahead of their next group stage match against Pakistan.

Bangladesh had nothing to offer throughout the match and they need to improve quickly, if they would like keep their semifinal dreams alive.

The SAFF Championship 2013 will continue tomorrow when India face archrivals Pakistan in another Group A match.

The India v Pakistan match will be broadcasted live here on www.chrispd.de. The match will kick-off at 18.30 local time | 18.15 IST | 14.45 CET | 13.45 GMT.
