India U-19 defeat Salgaocar FC Reserves

The AIFF’s Elite Academy comprising of the India U-19 national team boys got the better of Salgaocar FC’s Reserve Team, as they secured a 2-1 win in a Friendly Match at the Duler Stadium in Mapusa on Saturday.

Daniel Lalhlimpuia (17th) and SK Faiaz (57th) scored either side of halftime to register yet another victory for the U-19 boys. Salgaocar FC reduced the deficit in the 80th minute.

The U-19 boys were coming off a 4-0 victory over St. Cruz Sports Club Cavelossim in their previous friendly.

These colts under Head Coach Colm Joseph Toal had previously blanked the Chinese U-17 national team 4-0 and the Chinese U-16 national team 4-0 during an Exposure Trip ahead of the AFC U-19 Championship Qualifiers to be held in Doha in October.

The nucleus of the squad had represented India in the Final Phase of the AFC U-16 Championship Qualifiers in 2011 in Tehran where they had drawn 2-2 with the then Chinese U-16 national team.
