German Cup draw produce interesting matches

The Draw Ceremony for the Round of 16 of the German Cup (DFB-Pokal) took place on Sunday evening.

German national team coach Joachim Löw drew the pairings in the presence of Helmut Sandrock, General Secretary of the German FA (DFB), in the TV show “Sportschau” hosted by Matthias Opdenhövel.

Defending champions FC Bayern Munich will face Bavarian rivals FC Augsburg, while UEFA Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund will take on 1. FC Saarbrücken, the last 3rd Division side in the competition.

FC Schalke 04 will host 1899 Hoffenheim in a rematch of yesterday’s entertaining Bundesliga match which ended 3-3.

The eight matches of the Round of 16 will be played on December 3 and 4.
