David Alaba extends stay at Bayern through 2018

FC Bayern Munich and Austria international David Alaba (21) have today agreed a three-year extension to the player’s current contract, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2018.

“David has developed magnificently as a player since he came to FC Bayern as a 16-year-old. Nowadays he rates as one of the best and most successful full-backs in Europe. We are delighted we can continue to count on him and his efforts for the club,“ commented FC Bayern München AG chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

“I’ve been here at FC Bayern since 2008. It became my club a long time ago,“ stated treble winner David Alaba. “I’m delighted everything is settled now and I have the opportunity to play here for this club at least until 2018.“

“We’re delighted both parties have signed this long-term agreement,” said FC Bayern München AG executive board director Jan-Christian Dreesen, the club’s negotiating partner in the talks with David Alaba’s management. “David is an important component in our team. The contract until 2018 shows we all have a great interest in continuity and our sporting prospects over the years to come.“
