Kolkata to welcome the FIFA World Cup Trophy tomorrow

The original FIFA World Cup trophy will arrive in Kolkata for a second time in four years as part of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola tomorrow.

The 2013-14 FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola started in Brazil on September 12 and the trophy made stop overs in many countries e.g. Tahiti, Fiji, Jamaica, Barbados, Morocco, South Africa, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Bangladesh. The trophy is displayed to football fans in Nepal today before the journey continues to India.

Football fans in Kolkata will be able to enjoy a rare close-up view of the authentic solid-gold trophy, the very same one that is presented to the winners of every FIFA World Cup and to click a once-in-a-lifetime photo with the trophy.

Over the last one month, Kolkata has been living the football madness with celebrations across city paras and communities as part of Coca-Cola’s 2014 FIFA World Cup Campaign. Special events were held across the city in celebration of Kolkata’s passionate love for the game. Thousands of fans got the opportunity to win tickets to a special Trophy interaction open for consumers, to be held on December 23.

The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will be in Kolkata from December 22 to 24 and it will visit a total of 88 countries during its 267-day duration.
