Rajendra Prasad Singh to coach Odisha State Team

Former Indian international Rajendra Prasad Singh has been appointed as the Head Coach of the Odisha State Team for the upcoming 68th Santosh Trophy 2014.

Singh will be assisted by AFC “B” license holder Akshya Das, who is currently working as a Football Coach for the SAI Center at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Sunabeda (Koraput). Gopabandhu Sahoo will join the duo and will be in charge of the goalkeepers.

Odisha will kick-off their campaign in Qualifying Group A (East Zone) with a game against Bihar to be played in Sikkim on January 27. A total of 31 state teams will compete in five Qualifying Zones namely East, North, North-East, South and West, before the best teams advance to the final phase to be held in Siliguri.
