Bayern Munich sign talented youngster Sebastian Rode

Eintracht Frankfurt chairman Heribert Bruchhagen has confirmed media reports of Sebastian Rode joining FC Bayern Munich in the summer.

“It has been obvious for the last nine months,” Bruchhagen told at the sidlines of Eintracht’s winter training camp in Abu Dhabi.

The 23 year old midfielder will join the Bavarians on a free transfer and he will be Bayern’s second summer signing after Robert Lewandowski.

Rode started his football career at SKV Hähnlein, before playing for the youth teams of FC Alsbach, SC Viktoria Griesheim, SV Darmstadt 98 and Kickers Offenbach.

He promoted to the Kickers Offenbach senior team in 2008, before joining Eintracht Frankfurt two years later. Rode has represented Germany at youth level (U-18, U-19, U-20 and U-21).
