Shillong Lajong FC sign Durga Boro

In a bid to further strengthen their squad, Shillong Lajong FC have completed the signing of Durga Boro. The 27 year old striker hails from Assam and he has played for Oil India before signing for Churchill Brothers in 2009.

Expressing pleasure in the club’s new signing, Larsing M. Sawyan (General Secretary, Shillong Lajong FC) said: “We are extremely happy to have Durga Boro join Lajong. Durga is a striker with a lot of potential and we were very interested in signing him back in 2009. However, Durga had already signed for Churchill Brothers, by the time Lajong qualified for the I-League then. We wish him all the best and we hope that he will play an important role for the club in the remainder of the season.”

Durga Boro, who is known for his speed and skills with the ball, has also played numerous times for his state in regional and national tournaments. After putting pen to paper with the club, he said “Being from the North East, I am very excited to be part of Lajong. I look forward to contribute with my efforts in the I-League matches as well as training to help the club become successful.”
