India to face Bangladesh on March 5

The Indian national team will face neighbouring Bangladesh in an international FIFA friendly match on March 5.

The match will be played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Goa.

It will be the 30th match between these two national teams. India has won 17 of the matches, while drawing eight and losing five.

India and Bangladesh had their last encounter during the 2013 SAFF Championship in Kathmandu, Nepal, when both sides had to settle for a 1-1 draw. Sunil Chhetri scored a late injury time goal for India to equalise Atiqur Rahaman Meshu’s goal.

The friendly match will be India’s first encounter in 2014.
