54 teams for ONGC-NGO Football Championship for kids in Mumbai

Children representing the various NGO’s are eagerly looking forward to the kick-off of the 3rd ONGC-NGO Football Championship 2014, which is scheduled to be held at the Western Railway ground, Lower Parel in Mumbai on Sunday, February 16. The event is an initiative of Saran Sports.

The tournament will be conducted in six age categories – Boys’ 8-10 years, Boys’ 10-12 years, Boys’ 12-14 years, Boys’ 14-16 years, Girls’ 12-14 years and Girls’ 14-16 years. This is a 5-A-Side competition and each team will consist of a maximum of eight players.

The event has attracted a record number of 54 entries, almost double of last year (12 teams each of Boys’ 10-12 years, Boys’ 12-14 years, Boys’ 14-16 years and 6 teams of Boys’ 8-10 years, Girls’ 12-14 years and Girls’ 14-16 years).

The finals of all three categories will be played on February 16 followed by the prize distribution at the following times…
… Boys & Girls 12-14 years: 12noon
… Boys 8-10 and 10-12 years: 2:30pm
… Boys and Girls 14-16 years: 5pm
