Rangdajied United lock horns with leaders Shillong Lajong

Rangdajied United FC will lock horns against group leaders Shillong Lajong FC in the ongoing U-19 I-League North East Zone Qualifiers at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Shillong on Wednesday at 13.00 IST.

In the last round, the Blues played out a goalless draw against Green Valley while the Reds emerged victorious with a 1-0 win over Royal Wahingdoh.

Lajong will miss the services of Shaiborlang Kharpan who got injured in the last match and is likely to be out for the next match. The diminutive Shanbor Jywa maybe provided the opportunity to play in the first eleven in place of the injured Shaiborlang.

Coach Alison Kharsyntiew remains satisfied with the performance of his boys and is hoping for a good result in tomorrow’s match. He said, “The morale of the team is excellent. It is about being together and united and that is what the boys have done and shown lately. They have remained focused and consistent so far and have also been helping each other out on the field.”

“They continue to deliver even during training sessions and keep on improving each day. Rangdajied is a good side and a strong team. We are looking forward for a win and take all the three points tomorrow to stay on top.”

Royal Wahingdoh defeated Green Valley 6-1 today and the former are placed second in the table, while the latter is at the bottom of the NE Zone U-19 I-League standings.

Rangdajied on the other hand are placed third in the table as they have managed to get only one point from their two outings, while Shillong Lajong are at the top of table with six points from two matches.
