The Indian national team has climbed two spots in the latest FIFA World Ranking released today. India is now ranked 152th in the world (28th in Asia) behind Lichtenstein and ahead of Guyana.
Afghanistan (127th) once again remain the strongest side from the South Asian (SAFF) region, ahead of India, the Maldives (157th), Pakistan (158th), Nepal (160th), Bangladesh (162nd), Sri Lanka (173rd) and Bhutan (207th).
Spain, Germany, Argentina, Portugal and Colombia remaining unchanged in the top five spots of the FIFA World Ranking, while England (12th), Egypt (26th) and Panama (29th) have climbed in the ranking.
Afghanistan are not only among the biggest climbers this month, but also together with Panama they are the only ones able to celebrate reaching their highest position since the launch of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking.
The Netherlands (11th) have been kicked out of the top ten by neighbours Belgium (10th) in a month which has witnessed a total of 67 international matches at senior ‘A’ level.
The next FIFA World Ranking will be released on April 10.
