Shillong Lajong record a 3-2 away win at Green Valley

The Shillong Lajong FC U-19 team registered a 3-2 win over Green Valley SC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Guwahati in the U-19 I-League North-East Zone qualifiers on Monday afternoon.

Nabin opened the account for the Reds in the 15th minute while Bipin Singh scored a brace in the 51st and 57th minute.

Green Valley SC, who has been struggling at the bottom of the table throughout this tournament managed to score two goals via penalties and both were converted by Ridiwan Hajuary in the 60th and 71st minute. The game ended 2-3 in favour of the Junior Reds.

With this win the Lajong Juniors remain undefeated against their North-East counterparts and will be representing the “North East” in the final phase of the Under-19 I-League to be held in Jamshedpur.

The Junior Reds scored 15 goals in total, conceded only five goals and end the Under-19 I-League North-East Zone qualifiers campaign with a maximum 18 points from six matches.
