India U-14 girls suffer a 0-4 defeat against Nepal

The India U-14 girls have suffered a 0-4 defeat against Nepal in the AFC U-14 Regional Championship in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Saturday.

India had an impressive start to the competition with a 7-1 against hosts Sri Lanka [+ read more] and a 8-1 humiliation of Tajikistan [+ read more]. But the third match proved to be too much for the Indian girls.

Nepal took the lead in the 16th minute through Bhawana Mukhiya, while Alisha Jimba (18th) and Rekha Poudel (33rd) increased the lead in the first half. Mithila Kumari sealed Nepal’s 4-0 win against India with a second half goal.

India will face Bhutan in their next game on March 24 before they face Iran the very next day.
