2nd Division I-League Silchar leg comes to an end

The first leg of the 2nd Division I-League Final Round came to a conclusion on Monday, with a bout between Hindustan FC and Bhawanipore FC. The result being 2-0 in favour of the Kolkata outfit.

So far, the five teams in the final round of the competition – United Sikkim FC, Bhawanipore FC, Hindustan FC, Royal Wahingdoh FC, and Kalighat Milan Sangha FC – have played four games each at the Satindra Mohan Dev Stadium in Silchar, and a total of 19 goals have been recorded from the ten games.

Kolkata outfit Bhawanipore FC are leading the table with 10 points. They are yet to lose a game so far in the final round of the competition, as are Wahingdoh, who have six points from four games, and have recorded three draws.

Hindustan FC and Kalighat Milan Sangha are tied on four points each, but the Delhi outfit are on the top between the two owing to a better head-to-head record, and thus they occupy the third position.

The teams are now looking to lock horns with each other again in the 2nd phase of the tournament in Aizawl, beginning on Thursday, April 3. The final leg goes under way with a clash between Delhi outfit Hindustan FC and Shillong outfit Royal Wahingdoh. They play each other at the Lammual Stadium.

The topscorer of the competition so far is  James Gbilee of Kalighat Milan Sangha. The Liberian forward has seven goals to his name, and he is closely followed by Ayeni Bidemi Daniel with six goals.

Bekay Bawar of Royal Wahingdoh and O O Sola of Hindustan FC have five goals each.

Among the Indians, Jackichand Singh of Royal Wahingdoh is the highest scorer with four goals. He is followed by Zodinliana of Kalighat Milan Sangha, who has three goals to his name.

Bhawanipore FC – 10 pts
Royal Wahingdoh FC – 6 pts
Hindustan FC – 4 pts
Kalighat Milan Sangha – 4 pts
United Sikkim FC – 3 pts
