Best achievers honoured at the FPAI Indian Football Awards 2014


The 6th FPAI Indian Football Awards 2014 were held at the Park Hotel in Kolkata on Tuesday evening to honour the best performers in Indian football.

Hosts Arunava Chaudhuri and Debonita Sur led through the glittering gala event with many stars and celebrities in attendance.

Churchill Brother SC striker Balwant Singh received the “Best Indian Player of the Year” award from cricket legend Sourav Ganguly, while Shillong Lajong FC star Boithang Haokip swooped the “Fans Player of the Year” award.

Darryl Duffy (Salgaocar FC) clinched the “Best Foreign Player of the Year” award and Dempo SC youngster Alwyn George won the “Best Young Player of the Year” award.

Ashley Westwood received the “Best Coach of the Year” award for his achievements with newcomers Bengaluru FC who won the 2013-14 I-League.
