Koevermans shortlists five seniors for India's U-23 Asian Games squad

Indian national team coach Wim Koevermans has shortlisted five senior players for India’s campaign in Football for the 17th Asian Games Incheon 2014. The Games in Incheon are scheduled from September 19 to October 4, 2014.

The five senior players – Sunil Chhetri, Francis Fernandes, Robin Singh, Balwant Singh and Victorino Fernandes – would be a part of a Preparatory Camp from where the final squad would be selected later.

However, as per the rules of the Asian Games, only three amongst the five senior players would be part of India’s U-23 squad for the mega event with the rest of the squad all comprising of U-23 players.

Scott O’Donell, the Technical Director, AIFF Academies, also the Director, Coach Education would be assisting Koevermans as the Assistant Coach for the 2014 Asian Games.
