VIDEO: ISL Kochi franchise named Kerala Blasters FC

The Kochi franchise of the Indian Super League (ISL) will be named Kerala Blasters FC.

Legendary cricket star and franchise owner Sachin Tendulkar and Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy made the announcement at a press conference on Tuesday.

Tendulkar met Oommen Chandy and his cabinet colleagues and V.S. Achuthanandan, Leader of the Opposition, before the press conference and he also visited the home ground of the club, the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.

The meeting was also attended by Finance Minister K.M. Mani, Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty, Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash, Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob, Youth Affairs Minister P.K. Jayalekshmi, Excise Minister K. Babu and Chief Secretary E.K. Bharat Bushan.
