Germany announce 23-member 2014 FIFA World Cup squad

Germany coach Joachim Löw has announced his final 23-member squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Löw has decided to cut Marcel Schmelzer (Borussia Dortmund), Kevin Volland (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim) and Shkodran Mustafi (UC Sampdoria) from his provisional World Cup squad for the finals in Brazil. The German coach made the decision after Germany’s 2-2 draw against Cameroon on Sunday night.

Germany will face Armenia in a charity match in Mainz on Friday, before they depart for Brazil on Saturday.
