Second consecutive win for India U-14 boys

The All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) U-14 Academy boys beat the Father Agnels U-17 team 1-0 courtesy a first half goal from Abhijit Sarkar at the Chowgule Sports Ground in Goa.

Abhijit drove in a powerful shot from a tight angle to leave rival goalkeeper with no chance of a save in the 26th minute of the 60-minute tie. The 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup bound boys dominated proceedings from start to finish matching their older counterparts toe to toe.

In the other match of the day, the Group B U-14 Academy boys played out a goalless draw against a different bunch of the same opponents in a truncated match. After a barren first half where the Boys created few gilt-edged chances, the restart was halted due to blinding rain and conditions became such that play was not possible.

The colts had posted handsome 4-1 and 9-0 wins in respectively in their opening matches of the new season.
