Solitary goal win for AIFF Under-16 Regional Academy boys

The All India Football Federation’s U-16 Kalyani Regional Academy got the better of Kolkata Police by a solitary goal in a friendly match at the A-Block Ground in the picturesque suburban town of Kalyani, West Bengal.

An own goal in the second half saw the match’s fate being decided after a barren first half. Full back Amey Ranawade’s in swinging cross inside the box came off a rival defender and bundled into the net to the dismay of the Police side who had toiled hard throughout the match to keep the U-16 Boys at bay.

In the previous match, the boys made light work of Uttarpara Sporting Club 2-0.

The AIFF Academy boys had finished 4th in Group A with 11 points in the recently concluded 2014 Asia Champions Trophy which was played on a home-and-away basis.
