Dalbir Football Academy upset PSPCL

Lurking PSPCL suffered a 1-3 setback in the 28th JCT Punjab State Super Football League against in form Dalbir Football Academy in a Round VII match played at the JCT Sports Complex, Chohal. The match was shifted from the Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandahr to the JCT Sports Complex, Chohal in view of the BSNL League to be commenced on September 14 there.

The match started with Dalbir Football Academy initiating various excellent moves through their star Sajandeep. The result for some good footwork of the young outfit came in the 32nd minute when Santosh Kumar slotted home the first goal of the game.

Having suffered this setback, PSPCL lead by Gurpreet Singh upfront tried to create some magic, as other PSPCL players could not combine well with Gurpreet to produce some effective result. However, PSPCL was awarded a penalty in the 41st minute after Dalbir FA’s Amarwant handled the ball in the box. Sunil Kumar converted the penalty to score the equalizer in the 42nd minute.

Both team entered the field with great zeal after the half-time break and tried to show supremacy over each other in their continuous moves and counter attacks. However, the day was reserved for Dalbir Football Academy to register thei first win in the Super League.

Narinder Kumar scored a brilliant goal in the 56th minute after dozing past the PSPCL defenders to give his team the lead. PSPCL came close to score in the 67th minute but poor finishing upfront let them down. Prabhpal Singh sealed the win for Dalbir FA with a goal in the 83rd minute.

Tomorrow’s JCT Punjab State Super Football League matchday will see JCT taking on defending champions RCF at the JCT Sports Complex, Chohal at 16.00 IST.
