London to host the final of pan-European UEFA EURO 2020

London will be the destination to reach at the first-ever pan-European UEFA EURO 2020 with the Wembley Stadium to host the semi-finals and final.

The decision was taken at an UEFA Executive Committee meeting in Geneva, Switzerland today. The decision in favour of Wembley was made possible after the German FA (DFB)) signalised they would opt out from their bid to host the semi-finals and final at Munich’s Allianz Arena, if the English FA would not bid for the UEFA EURO 2024. The DFB is planning to submit a bid for the tournament in 2024.

The UEFA EURO 2020 will be played in 13 host cities around Europe. The quarter-finals will be played in Baku (Azerbaijan), Munich (Germany), Rome (Italy) and St Petersburg (Russia).

The Round of 16 matches will be hosted by Amsterdam (Netherland), Bilbao (Spain), Brussels (Belgium), Bucharest (Romania), Budapest (Hungary), Copenhagen (Denmark), Dublin (Republic of Ireland) and Glasgow (Scotland).

The group stage matches will be played in Amsterdam, Baku, Bilbao, Brussels, Bucharest, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dublin, Glasgow, Munich, Rome and St Petersburg.
