With the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup on the horizon, the Local Organising Committee appointed Javier Ceppi (Tournament Director) and Joy Bhattacharjya (Project Director) took up the reins from today and will be based at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.

“We are happy to have Javier and Joy with us for the U-17 World Cup,” AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das told AIFF Media.

“Both Javier and Joy have a lot of expertise in technical as well as administrative matters and are the right people to take this first-of-its kind project forward. I am sure we are heading in the right direction,” he added.

The appointment process was concluded after an interview panel comprising of General Secretary, AIFF, Deputy General Secretary, AFC, FIFA Development Officer and a senior AIFF Executive Committee Member conducted interviews in late August.

The short listed candidates were then interviewed by Praful Patel, President, AIFF before the appointments were finalised.
