Chinedu Ejidgu nets brace in Vasco SC victory

Chinedu Emmanuel Ejidgu netted a brace as Vasco SC edged past Sporting Clube de Goa 3-1 in a GFA Goa Pro League match at the Duler Stadium, Mapusa on Tuesday. Vasco led 1-0 at the breather.

Sporting Goa dominated the opening exchanges, but could not penetrate in the final third of the field.

Naveen Mendes opened the scoring for Vasco on the half hour mark when he capitalised on a mistake in the Sporting Goa defence to drive the ball home.

Changing over, Vasco managed to double their lead through a corner when Chinedu poked the ball in with his head.

A resilient Sporting Goa went all out on the attack and fought their way back into contention when the Vasco custodian failed to deal with a cross at the back post, which allowed Boima to smash the ball home and pull a goal back for the Flaming Oranje.

Three minutes into injury time, as Sporting Goa pushed men forward in search of the equalizer they got caught on the break as Chinedu struck again for Vasco.
