The Indian national team has dropped eleven spots in the latest FIFA World Ranking released on November 27. India is now ranked 170th in the world and 36th in Asia.

It is India’s worst-ever FIFA world ranking since its inception in December 1992 and it should be a warning for the Indian football fraternity. The Indian team played its last match earlier this month, while no matches have been scheduled for the next months.

Afghanistan (133) still remain the best team from the South Asian (SAFF) region, followed by the Maldives (142), Bangladesh (163), Sri Lanka (169), India, Nepal (179), Pakistan (183) and Bhutan (209).

2014 FIFA World Cup winners Germany continue to lead the FIFA World Ranking ahead of Argentina, Colombia, Belgium and the Netherlands.

The next FIFA World Ranking will be released on December 18.
