Mumbai City FC head coach Peter Reid was a happy man after his side registered a dramatic 2-1 win against Atlético de Kolkata in their final 2014 Hero Indian Super League (ISL) home game of the league stage at the D.Y. Patil Stadium on Sunday.

Mumbai City kept their mathematical chances of qualifying for the semis alive courtesy to goals scored by Lalrindika Ralte (40′) and Manuel Friedrich (76′). Baljit Singh Sahni (60′) put the visitors on level, but former German international Friedrich headed home the vital winner.

“It was a really good performance,” Reid told at the post-match press conference. “The players were absolutely brilliant.”

“I thought Pavel Cmovs was great at the back, and Asif Kottayil in the middle of the park was absolutely outstanding.”

“I think it was a result we deserved, against a good side,” the Englishman continued.

“Due to injuries, we had to change the formation three or four times, and I thought the players adapted really well. All credit to them.”

Asked about the hopes to advance to the semis, Reid said, “We will try and look after ourselves.”
