Kerala Blasters FC advanced to the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) final despite going down to 1-3 to Chennaiyin FC in the second leg semifinal match on Tuesday.

Kerala Blasters won the first leg 3-0, but Chennaiyin FC proved to be a strong opponent in the return leg. Mikaël Silvestre, Sandesh Jhingan and Jeje Lalpekhlua found the back of the net to take Chennaiyin FC into an unexpected extra-time.

But the hopes of the home fans at Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium were shattered when former Scotland international Stephen Pearson hit the target to secure the visitors a 4-3 win on aggregate.
