FIFA World Ranking: India finish 2014 on a historic all-time low

The Indian national team has once again dropped a spot to finish the year on a historic all-time low in the FIFA World Ranking.

India is now ranked 171st in the world (35th in Asia) which happens to be the worst-ever FIFA world ranking since its inception in December 1992.

The latest FIFA World Ranking should be a reason of concern and it must be a signal that changes are much needed to stop the decline which started after the 2011 AFC Asian Cup.

The Top 20 of the FIFA World Ranking remains unchanged as World Champions Germany finish off the year at the top of the ranking. Argentina, Colombia, Belgium and the Netherlands complete the Top 5.
