Soumen Majumder goal secures East Bengal three points

Mohammedan Sporting Club suffered a narrow defeat against local rivals East Bengal Club in an U-19 I-League Zonal Round encounter at the Kamalgazi Netaji Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon.

Soumen Majumder scored the lone goal of the game just five minutes into the match. Mohammedan did have their chances to equalise, as first half substitue Asif Hussain and Sk. Suraj Ali tested the East Bengal defence through out but inexperience and lack of co-ordination caused yet another loss for the Black Cubs.

East Bengal managed to keep the clean sheet despite Mohammedan dominating the game and claimed three important points to keep their campaign on course.
