Mohammedan Sporting Club go down to East Bengal

East Bengal Club rode on Joaqium Abranches’ second half strike to prevail over Mohammedan Sporting Club 1-0 in an Exhibition Match played at Kamalgazi Netaji Sports Complex on Wednesday afternoon.

Going into the match Mohammedan had only two days to prepare but beyond expectations the Black Panthers played some brilliant football which amazed 5000+ football fanatics who were present to watch the match.

Since the very beginning of the match Mohammedan looked the better side, while creating a number of challenges on the East Bengal box in the first half. But somehow they failed to find the target as the teams went into the half-time break with a goalless draw.

In the second half, East Bengal took the lead aginst the run of play through Joaqium Abranches which ultimately turned out to be the winning goal. Mohammedan had a host of chances to equalise but they failed to score the leveller with Somide Adelaja and Ashim Biswas upfront.
