Chennaiyin FC conducts Workshop for Grassroots Coaches

The Hero Indian Super League (ISL) has initiated a Grassroots Programme for the development of football and footballers in India with all eight franchises involved. As a part of that initiative, Chennaiyin FC conducted a workshop for the training of Grassroots Coaches in Chennai on Saturday.

The workshop was organised at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium with 51 participants. There was a theory session at the media hall of the stadium and a practical session on the practice pitch.

The workshop was overseen by Chennaiyin FC’s first team assistant coach Vivek Nagul and Varun Tripuraneni (Head of Operations, Chennaiyin FC). The aim of the workshop was to train coaches on how to conduct coaching activities at grassroots level.

In the theory session, the participating coaches were shown a presentation explaining the structure of the ISL Grassroots Programme as designed by ISL Grassroots Technical Director Piet Hubers.

There was also a Q&A session where the participants had their queries answered.

After that there was the practical session, where there was a demonstration of the activities that were discussed in the theory session with all participants showing great enthusiasm to learn about the whole Grassroots Programme.
