The Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) Canacona Centres at Devbhag and Amone celebrated their first anniversary on February 10, 2015 with great fun for the trainees and their parents by organising games for all present, as part of the Community Development Programme.
At Devbhag, Canacona Municipal chairperson Simon appreciated the work done by the GFDC Centre head & coaches and wished all the best to the Centre whilst pledging his whole-hearted support.
GFDC chairman Dr. Rufino Monteiro hoped to see better results from the Centre in the coming year and he extorted the trainees to work hard and with dedication so that stars may be developed in Canacona following in the footsteps of their fellow-villager, Cavin Lobo. Centre Head Sharendra proposed a vote of thanks.
At Amone, Centre Had Savita Tawadkar welcomed the guests and outlined the Centre’s achievements. Dr. Rufino Monteiro complimented the trainees for a good showing in football despite certain teething problems in this remote area and pledged to extend all help to promote and develop the state sport in the area.
