Dempo SC agree to part ways with chief coach Arthur Papas

Dempo SC confirmed that the club has agreed last week to part ways with chief coach Arthur Papas after the Australian resigned citing personal reasons.

Chief coach Arthur Papas joined the club in June 2013 and in that period guided the club to a 4th place finish in the 2013/14 I-League season as well as reaching the semifinals and finals of the Federation Cup in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

During his 20 month stint with Dempo, Papas identified and nurtured a host of young domestic talent, a tenure which culminated last week with as many as eleven players selected as part of the National Team setups.

“I wish to place on record my thanks to Mr. Shrinivas Dempo, support staff and the players for the period of employment as head coach of Dempo SC, and wish the club continued success for the rest of the season and beyond,” stated Papas.

Shrinivas V. Dempo wished Papas good luck in his future footballing endeavours.
