Mohammedan Sporting Club sign Rakesh Masih

Mohammedan Sporting Club have completed the signing of experienced Rakesh Masih for the upcoming 2014-15 2nd Division I-League season.

The former Indian international was an integral part of Atlético de Kolkata’s Indian Super League (ISL) winning squad in 2014 and Mohammedan Sporting Club hope to add much needed strength to their squad in form of Rakesh.

Mohammedan Sporting chief coach Ananta Kumar Ghosh welcomed Rakesh and said, “I would like to welcome Rakesh in the club and wish him all the very best. In midfield we badly needed a senior player like him and we must thank to the officials who brought Rakesh. He is a very expericed player; with his experience he knows how to perform in crucial matches so in 2nd Division he has a very big role to play for the team.”

Meanwhile, Mohammedan Sporting Club will kick-off their final preparations for the 2nd Division I-League at East Bengal Ground on Monday. The team had its last training session at the Saltlake Stadium today.

During today’s training session, Ananta Kumar Ghosh said, “We had very good training here at Yubabharati and it’s more important to have equally good or even better traning at East Bengal Ground because in 2nd Division we are going to play at natural surface.”

We have very talented players in our team and it brought a healthy competition within the team that’s why everyone is eager to do well but still there are some areas which need to take care off and I hope before leaving for 2nd Division on March 26 we would able to sought out those.”
