Sporting Clube de Goa held by Royal Wahingdoh

Ten men Sporting Clube de Goa was held to a goalless draw by Royal Wahingdoh FC in a Hero I-League encounter at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda on Tuesday.

Sporting Goa created three great chances in the opening five minutes, with Odafe Okolie, Anthony Wolfe and Victorino Fernandes coming close. Royal Wahingdoh were literally pinned back into their own half for the whole of the first half.

In the second second session Wahingdoh started to open up a little and play with some risk. Sporting Goa upped the tempo midway through the half with the introduction of creative midfielder Brandon Fernandes .

In the closing stages, Sporting Goa was reduced to ten men when defender Jovel Martins was sent off after receiving his second yellow card.

Sporting Goa defender Sandesh Jhinghan was adjudged the Hero of the Match.
