Over 60 teams for 3rd Saran Junior Premier Soccer Challenger 2015

Leading football playing schools from Mumbai will be seen in action during the 3rd Saran Junior Premier Soccer Challenger 2015, which is set to kick off on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Western Railway Sports Ground, Mahalaxmi. The event is supported by Queens Park Rangers FC and co-sponsored by DBS Bank and Tata Capital. It is partnered by Adlabs Imagica, Hersheys and Audi South Mumbai. It is conceived and managed by Saran Sports.

The accent is on the children in the younger age groups. The tournament is a 5-A-Side Challenger for boys and girls in two age groups – between 6 to 8 years, 8 to 10 years, 10 to 12 years and 12 to 14 years.

A total of 64 teams (600 children) over four age categories are participating in this challenger. Teams will be divided in groups of three where the topper from each group qualifies for the knockout.

Matches shall be played on a league-cum-knock-out basis.

In addition there will be special fun football contests for the parents of the children.

The winning and runners-up teams will be awarded trophies and individual medals will be presented to each member of the two teams.

Event Features:
• A total of 90 plus matches will be played.
• A total of 64 teams (boys and girls) will participate in the league in various age groups of between 6 to 8 years, 8 to 10 years, 10 to 12 years and 12 to 14 years.
• Each team shall consist of 8 players. Matches will be on a 5-a-side basis.
• Matches shall be played on a league cum knock-out basis.
• Each half shall last for 7 1⁄2 minutes with a two minute break.
• Special fun football contests for the parents of the children.
• Matches shall be played on a league cum knock-out basis.
• Teams will be divided in groups of three where the topper from each group qualifies for the knockout.
• Team trophy to be awarded to the Winning/Runners-up teams and individual medals to each member of the top two teams.
