Sporting Clube de Goa overpower Salgaocar

Sporting Clube de Goa recorded their first victory of the season after overcoming Salgaocar FC 2-0 in a Hero I-League encounter at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, on Sunday. Sporting Goa led 1-0 at the breather.

Sporting Goa opened the scoring after just eleven minutes when Anthony Wolfe unselfishly squared the ball for Odafe Okoli to pounce and fire home the opener.

Changing over, the Flaming Oranje continued to dominate with swift counter attacks forward. In the 60th minute local lad Brandon Fernandes hit a blistering shot which took a slight deflection of a Salgaocar defender before entering the net to double Sporting Goa’s lead.
