Soccerex have announced that Davor Šuker, President of the Croatian Football Federation will attend its Global Convention, taking place in Manchester, UK, on September 7-9, 2015.
Croatia’s all time leading goal scorer, Šuker is one of the game’s finest strikers having graced the likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal and Dinamo Zagreb in an illustrious career. Having held the Presidency of the Croatian Football Federation since 2012, Šuker was recently elected to UEFA’s Executive Committee where he joins three other ex-professionals including the re-elected UEFA President, Michel Platini.
Passionate to develop the game further, Šuker will share his thoughts on the state of football and the challenges faced to safeguard its future growth. However, his vision doesn’t just span Eastern Europe, but around the world, with the ambitious Croatian targeting a role in FIFA.
“[To be a] member of the UEFA executive board is the first step,” Šuker said in a recent interview for RTL. “FIFA? That’s the next step in the future, but let’s go step by step. There’s a lot of work, we have to create projects with the cooperation of the EU, UEFA and FIFA. We need to improve infrastructure in Croatia, to strengthen our clubs and leagues, but at same time work in the [whole] region, to help everybody.”
