FIFA World Football Museum opens showroom

Construction work on the new FIFA World Football Museum has been underway at Tessinerplatz near Zurich-Enge station since 2014. Now, in order to give the public a first impression of what lies in store at the museum, FIFA Museum AG will open a showroom.

Construction work on the FIFA World Football Museum is going according to schedule, but to enable anyone who is interested in football or the museum itself to get a first impression of the upcoming museum, FIFA Museum AG will open Monday 11 May 2015 a showroom at Seestrasse 37 in Zurich. The showroom is open to the public on working days between 11.00 and 14.00.

For FIFA Museum AG, the opening of the showroom represents a significant milestone on the road to the new museum. “We are well on track. The final detailed plans will be completed in the next few weeks,” says Managing Director Stefan Jost, who took over responsibility for the museum project in March 2015. “We still plan to open the museum in the first quarter of 2016.”

The showroom will give visitors an idea of how the museum will look as well as its size and capacity. The museum’s exhibition concept will also be presented, while an eight-minute film will take visitors on a virtual tour of the various levels of the museum. “The showroom will give our future guests a glimpse of the multimedia world of experiences that we are creating here at the FIFA World Football Museum,” says Creative Director David Ausseil.

As well as the extraordinary history of FIFA and the unique nature of the FIFA World Cup™, the museum intends to cover all facets of the world of football. An interactive, multimedia world of experiences will look at the emotions that football awakens on a daily basis all around the world, thrilling people and shaping their lives. As such, the museum will be a vibrant meeting place for the entire football family.
