Sporting Clube de Goa take on Mohun Bagan

With just four more rounds to play, it’s a very crucial game for both teams as Mohun Bagan AC and Sporting Clube de Goa battle it out in the I-League at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, on Saturday. The kick-off time is 16.30 IST.

Sporting Goa is currently on a five game unbeaten run where they have won two and drawn three. In their last encounter they defeated Bharat FC comfortably 2-0.

Sporting Goa defender Sandesh Jhingan is still out injured and Trinidad & Tobago striker Anthony Wolfe is suspended for the Flaming Oranje, but Nigerian talisman Odafe Okoli is back just in time from injury to play against his former team.

“Sandesh is injured and Wolfe is suspended, but Odafa is back from injury which will give us a boost,” remarked Sporting Goa coach Mathew Costa.

Mohun Bagan is at full strength, although central midfielder Denson Devdas is doubtful. “Devdas took a knock on his knee in practice so we will have to see if he has recovered,” stated Mohun Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen.

Sporting Goa is currently bottom of the table with 14 points from sixteen games, while Mohun Bagan is top of the table with 32 points from the same number of matches.
