The Audi Cup 2015 featuring a high-profile line-up namely hosts FC Bayern Munich, Real Madrid CF, AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur kicked off in Munich on Tuesday.
The 4th edition of the tournament started off with the two semifinal matches at the Allianz Arena in Munich. Spanish giants Real Madrid won the first semifinal 2-0 against Premiership side Tottenham courtesy to goals by James Rodríguez (36′) and Gareth Bale (79′).
Bayern Munich defeated AC Milan 3-0 in the second semifinal to set up a clash of European heavyweights in the final on Wednesday. Juan Bernat (23′), Mario Götze (74′) and Robert Lewandowski (85′) scored for Bundesliga champions.
The Audi Cup is a biennial tournament organised by German automobile manufacturer Audi at Munich’s Allianz Arena. Bayern Munich have won the tournament twice (2009 & 2013), while FC Barcelona claimed the silverware in 2011.
The final of the Audi Cup 2015 will be played on Wednesday (August 5).
