The India U-16 national team, currently preparing for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup, were held to a 2-2 draw by Austrian side AKA Tirol in Austria on Monday (August 17, 2015).

The Indian U-17 World Cup Squad is currently on an exposure trip to Germany, from where they would be touching Iranian shores for the AFC U-16 Championship Qualifiers slated to kick-off in Tabriz City, Iran.

On a rainy and cold evening in Austria, AKA Tirol took an early lead in the 20th minute and doubled their lead in the 25th minute.

The spirit of the Indian colts was seldom deterred and in the 40th minute, Komal scored to half the deficit for the contingent.

With two halves of forty five minutes comprising the match, the Indian team went into the breather trailing 1-2.

Head Coach of the Indian U-17 World Cup Squad Nicolai Adam shuffled his pack and introduced Rahul in place of Aman in the 73rd minute.

In the 80th minute, Rahul blasted his opportunity into the back of the net to equalize the deficit for India.

At full-time, both teams finished at level pegging as the score-line reflected 2-2.

The Indian U-16 lads had earlier defeated SpVgg Greuther Fürth U-16 3-2 on August 14 in Germany.
